Privacy Policy

Last updated November 2026

This policy explains what personal information Cherocó Travel collects, why we use it and the choices you have. If you have any questions, you can email us at travel@cheroco.com.

Who we are

Cherocó Travel is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. This means we decide how and why it’s used, and we’re responsible for looking after it.

What we collect

  • Enquiries. Your name, email address, phone number and the details you share with us about your trip or event.

  • Trips we arrange. Guest names, contact details, travel dates, flight and rooming information, and any identity details a supplier needs for a booking.

  • Dietary and access requirements. Where these are needed to look after a guest, they may include information about health. We only use them to arrange the trip, and we ask for consent where required.

  • Website use. Information about how the site is used, collected through cookies if you agree. Our Cookie Policy has the details.

How and why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and prepare proposals. This is in our legitimate interests, or a step you’ve asked us to take before a contract.

  • To arrange and manage travel and events. This is necessary to perform our contract.

  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.

  • To understand how our website is used, with your consent.

  • To send you marketing, only if you’ve chosen to receive it. You can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only where needed with:

  • hotels, venues, airlines, transfer companies and other suppliers involved in your trip

  • Squarespace, which hosts this website and its forms

  • Google, which provides our email and document storage, and spam protection on our forms

  • professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it

International transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside the UK, and trips abroad mean sharing guest details with suppliers in the destination. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, or on the transfer being necessary to arrange the travel you’ve asked for.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. Enquiries that don’t go ahead are normally kept for up to two years. Booking and financial records are normally kept for six years to meet tax and legal requirements.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy to pass to someone else. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To make a request, email travel@cheroco.com. We’ll respond within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
